The Commonwealth Department of Science Education & Training have just announced funding will now be available for the up-skilling of Hospital trained Registered Nurses. This means Hospital trained Registered Nurses that could be eligible for commonwealth funding (see below) can now complete national qualifications up to certificate IV level.

Funding eligibility criteria- Guide

The Commonwealth government will provide funding for the delivery of qualifications to employees*; however they have placed strict criteria on the eligibility of that funding. As a guide only the criteria is as follows:
  • An employee must hold permanent employment status and working 20 hours or more per week either full time or part time (not casual)
  • Prior qualifications. A participant cannot have achieved qualifications at certificate III level or certificate IV level within the last 7 years.

Delivery

Flexible delivery modes means there is no requirement for you to leave the workplace to undertake training activities. The qualification can be completed during work hours. Your experience will be recognised for assessment.
